John Lien

Managing Director, DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners

John is based in Hong Kong where he oversees DLJ RECP’s acquisition and asset management activities in China. He joined the team in 2006 and is responsible for originating and executing new investments, overseeing the firm’s existing portfolio, as well as managing its partner relationships in the greater China region. Prior to DLJ RECP, John worked in the Real Estate Group of Lehman Brothers, where he led real estate and non-performing loan transactions in China. He started his real estate career in China in 1993 with Henderson Land, a Hong Kong-based Global 500 company, where he managed a number of large-scale development projects in Beijing and Shanghai. John earned his B.A. from the University of British Columbia and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. He was appointed visiting professor at Beijing University of International Business and Economics in 2005.
